Keilani Anoai’s Family
Keilani Anoa’I is a descendant of an extensive family of Samoan professional wrestlers, including Dwayne Johnson (aka “The Rock”), Solofa Fatu Jr. (aka “Rikishi”), Afa, Sika, Samu & Matt Anoai (aka “Rosey”).
Agatupu Rodney Anoaʻi, known by the ring name Yokozuna, was born on October 2, 1966, in San Francisco, California, USA. He was the son of Anoa’i Jr (Afoa) & Leatu Anoai. He had a brother Josh and 2 sisters, Venus & Vera. He was the cousin of former WWE superstar Rosey (Matthew Tapunu’u Anoaʻi). The term yokozuna refers to the highest rank in professional sumo wrestling in Japan. Although the “Yokozuna” character was portrayed as a champion sumo wrestler, Anoa’i had never competed as an actual sumotori. His career in professional wrestling began as he grew up in a family full of wrestlers, the Anoaʻi family. His uncles were The Wild Samoans, Afa, and Sika, who trained him from an early age in the family business.
Yokozuna was married to Monica Anoa’i and had two kids: a daughter Keilani Anoa’i, and a son Justin Anoa’i. Yokozuna died from pulmonary edema in his hotel room in Liverpool, England, on October 22, 2000.
