Juanita Bonniedale Jordan was a real estate broker and mother of Dennis Quaid. She was born on January 29, 1927, in Emmett, Texas, USA, to Ollie French Jordan and George Waymon. Juanita was married twice; she first married William Quaid, with whom she had two sons, Dennis, and Randy Quaid. She then married Bob Finch, who preceded her in death.

Juanita worked as a real estate agent in Houston for over 30 years; she bought, refurbished, and sold properties in the area and was quite successful. Juanita made enough money from her career to support her financial needs and care for her family.

Her Son

Dennis Quaid dropped out of college to pursue an acting career. However, things were difficult for him initially since he had trouble landing acting roles. Juanita’s son debuted in 1975 in the film Crazy Mama; two years later, Dennis made his television debut in an episode of Baretta. Dennis gained more fame when he appeared in the movie Breaking Away.

In 1983, Juanita’s son portrayed Gordon Cooper in the drama film The Right Stuff, and his performance was highly praised. His other projects in the 1980s include Great Balls of Fire, Innerspace, Dreamscape, Bill: On His Own, Enemy Mine, and The Big Easy. In the early 1990s, Dennis’s acting career slowed because he was fighting anorexia nervosa.

Years later, his acting career started taking shape, and he appeared in several other shows and films, including  Dinner with Friends, Far From Heaven, Frequency, Vantage Point, and The Day After Tomorrow. Juanita’s son is still active in the acting industry and is set to star as Sherrill Lynn in the upcoming miniseries Bass Reeves.

Is Juanita’s Son Married?

Dennis has had quite an exciting love life; he has been married to four women. He first married actress P.J Soles in 1973 but divorced five years later. Juanita’s son met Meg Ryan while performing in a movie and fell in love; they exchanged their wedding vows on Valentine’s Day in 1991. Dennis and Meg had a son in 1992 before separating in 2000.

Juanita’s son’s third marriage was to Kimberly Buffington, a real estate agent, in 2004; they had fraternal twins who almost died after being given an overdose of heparin when they were barely two weeks old. The couple filed for divorce in 2012 but reconciled in 2013, and the divorce case was dismissed.

Dennis Quaid finally divorced Kimberly in 2018. He is now married to Laura Savoie, and they have been together for over two years.

Controversies Surrounding Juanita’s Son

There was a discussion surrounding Juanita’s son about his cocaine addiction. In an interview, he mentioned that when he was using cocaine, he did not know if it was addictive since studies suggested it. However, after using the drugs, he realized he could not do his normal activities without using the substance. He recovered from the addiction in the 1990s.

Juanita Bonniedale Jordan died on August 5, 2019, aged 92, in Austin, Texas, USA. She was buried at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
